Kai Hock Tong Temple

Kai Hock Tong (kai fu tang) was established in 1919 at Hougang 4th milestone, in a village largely owned by Lim Loh and villagers mainly went by the surname Lim. Lim Loh, the temple's founder, brought the 'Joss Ash' from Nan'an in Fujian to Singapore. Due to land acquisition by a private developer, Kai Hock Tong relocated to Punggol and Tampines, before it partnered with Chao Ying Kong and Keat Sun Beo to build the combined temple Zi Yun Kai Ji Gong in 1996.
The statues of deities 'Wan Gong Wan Ma' in the temple are believed to be the first in the region and they are very rare til today.
Lim Loh (aka Lim Chee Gee), father of World War II hero Lim Bo Seng, was credited for building Cui Long Tau Hong San See. He and his five wives were buried in Bukit Brown Cemetery (aka Bukit Brown Municipal Cemetery, Bukit Brown Heritage Park or Kopi Sua).
